European Cafe - opened since 1979 and for good reason!

219 The Parade, Norwood (08) 84312145
Gnocchi gorgonzola, Spaghetti marina, and pear, rocket & walnut salad
It was a Saturday night and we wanted to grab a quick meal before we headed off to catch a movie at Norwood. Hubby felt like a 'hearty' pasta meal so we thought we'd revisit an oldie - European Cafe. I must admit it's been a few years since I've last been here and I wondered why after our very enjoyable meals. I ordered the (entree sized) Spaghetti Marina and hubby was swayed towards the Gnocchi Gorgonzola. We enjoyed a side of Pear, Rocket and Walnut salad which was very generously sized. Everything was delicious, fresh and tasted liked a home cooked Italian meal (I suspect as I have yet to have one!). The absolute standout was the gnocchi dish. For someone who's not a cheese aficionado, one mouthful of the gnocchi had you coming back for more of the blue vein cheese sauce! My dinner was perfectly complimented with my refreshing glass of Gabbiano Pinot Grigio. Service was great considering it was busy. Oh, and we were also given complimentary Garlic Pizza Bread soon after our meals came out which was a lovely surprise.

Verdict: Thumbs up!
