|Botanic Ristorante - calamari, pork, tira misu, pannacotta|
The Botanic Ristorante, in the east end, has been a favourite fine dining destination for many Adelaideans and does not require any introductions. But I'm sure many aren't aware of their brilliant $25 lunch tasting menu. Excellent Italian fare at a great price how could you say no? And don't be put off by the word 'tasting' as servings are generous!
For $25 you get to choose from 2 courses (entree, main or dessert) and a glass of red or white wine. I went along with some work colleagues and ordered an entree - calamari fritti with rucola and lime aoili, and a main - pork cutlets in mustard seed. Calamari was tasty with a creamy aoili and the pork tender and juicy with a delicious glaze.
As lunch was an all girl affair, we had to sample the dolci (that's dessert to you and me!) so we also ordered some traditional tira misu and pannacotta di vanilla to share. It was a perfect way to end the meal but strolling back to work wasn't easy with our very full tummies!
So if you're looking for a 'fancier' lunch during the work week head down to the Botanic Ristorante. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
VERDICT: One and a half thumbs up.
